About

I teach Taoist internal alchemy (neidan) from Wang Liping's Dragon Gate lineage. Practising since 1997, authorized to teach in 2015, author of the three-volume Taoist Alchemy of Wang Liping.

Me

I began Taoist practice in 1997: temple arts, martial arts, neigong, qigong and internal alchemy (neidan). I lived in China for several years, trained full-time with a number of masters, and learned Mandarin.

Back in Canada I took an honours degree in Asian Languages and Culture at the University of British Columbia and began an MA in Classical Chinese and the Taoist canon. Then I met Wang Liping, and left graduate school to train with him.

In 2015 he authorized me to teach and to write the books. The books became the three volumes; the teaching became the online courses and the retreats. I live in Vancouver.

Wang Liping

Wang Liping is the current transmitter of the Dragon Gate lineage, a Mountain Taoist tradition. Everything I teach was passed on by him. His training is told in Opening the Dragon Gate. The curriculum page sets out his system.

How I teach

In order, and in plain language. Internal alchemy is practised seated and still, but it is active work with the body's energy, not meditation as most people know it. The stages are definite and the methods are specific. What cannot be shortened is the time it takes.

The aim is a practice you own.
